For information contact: Wendy Binns, (404) 586-0002, ext. 315
ATLANTA, GA In September, Atlanta¹s free monthly newspaper, Atlanta INtown, enters its second decade with a new look, new features and a focus on literacy in the community.
After publishing under the names Atlanta Buckhead and Atlanta North, the monthly papers re-launch this month as Atlanta INtown with a new logo and fresh focus. Founded more than 10 years ago as Atlanta 30306, the newspaper was acquired in 2002 by Nonami Enterprises, a Cousins family interest unrelated to Cousins Properties.
"We hope to strengthen our role as a positive community voice and resource for all intown Atantans," said Lillian Cousins Giornelli, president of Nonami Enterprises, Inc., which is also principal owner of Georgia Trend magazine. "We¹re proud to play an important role in the media landscape of Atlanta."
The paper¹s new features include:
- One name: Atlanta INtown
- A new core message: By writing about the people and organizations doing good things to build our community, we connect and support intown neighborhoods through information and inspiration.
- Mailing over half our 65,000 papers to carefully selected addresses through the U.S. Postal Service; o Dedicated coverage each month to literacy in the city; o Sponsorship of the Atlanta-Fulton County Library¹s Books for Babies program, which provides mothers with their newborns¹ first book, Good Night Moon.
Changes in staff at the paper during the past year include the promotion of Wendy Binns, a longtime Atlanta staffer, to general manager, and the addition of Susan Soper, a 20-year veteran of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as executive editor. Laura Jackson has recently joined the team as sales manager.
