Buckhead Business Association is looking for members to help lead the 2018 membership. Below is a list of the 2018 Board of Directors positions. 2018 BBA BOARD VICE PRESIDENT JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Committee: Area Retailing

  • Promote retail industry in Buckhead
  • Once/month, present Retail Report at BBA Breakfast
  • Act as Chair of the Buckhead Business of the Year Award
  • Manage committee(10-12 members, meets 4 times)
  • Helps to recruit nominees for awards
  • Steward selection process
  • Encourage nominees to join BBA, purchase seats/tables at luncheon
  • Lead ad sales for Annual Luncheon Program
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Corporate Development

  • Works with BBA Executive Director to ensure that BBA Corporate Sponsorship levels are marketable, appropriate and accommodating
  • Set financial and sponsorship goals
  • Research potential new corporate sponsors
  • Coordinate meeting with potential sponsors and the BBA Executive Director and/or Executive Committee member
  • Approach current BBA members about increasing their roles of sponsorship
  • Invite potential members/sponsors to BBA breakfast
  • Works with VPs of Membership and Programming to coordinate efforts
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Membership

  • Works with BBA Board and Executive Director on strategic plan for increasing membership, improving member retention, scheduling member events and providing value to members
  • Manage the BBA Membership committee and direct monthly meetings of the committee
  • Coordinate volunteers for weekly breakfast meetings
  • Introduce all visitors and new/renewing members at weekly breakfast meeting
  • Follow up with visitors personally or delegate to committee members
  • Provide monthly report to the BBA Board on new and retained members
  • Coordinate Quarterly New Member Orientation
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events
  • Works with BBA Board and Executive Director on strategic plan for increasing membership, improving member retention, scheduling member events and providing value to members

Committee: Programming

  • Schedule engaging, relevant and informative speakers for BBA breakfast meetings
  • Confirm speakers in writing at least 60-90 days prior to their scheduled date. Request bio, photo, and AV requirements 30 days prior. Contact speakers the week prior for final confirmation and to answer any questions regarding logistics
  • Introduce speakers at weekly breakfast meetings
  • Schedule high-profile speakers for Signature and annual Luncheon
  • Works with Membership and Corporate Development to better coordinate speakers and follow up activities
  • Provide monthly report to BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Public Relations

  • Ensures that BBA messages is consistent, concise, and targeted
  • Works closely with BBA Executive Director and Board leadership to stay informed about BBA issues
  • Compose press releases and coordinate media for all official BBA Events: weekly breakfast meetings, Signature Luncheons, Annual Luncheons, and Taste of Buckhead
  • When necessary, compose press releases for affiliated events/BBA member events
  • Acts as point person for media contacts at BBA events
  • Maintain solid relationships with media partners and local media
  • Respond to media inquiries on behalf of the BBA
  • Create marketing pieces, invitations, etc. for luncheon events and Taste of Buckhead
  • Assist with other marketing pieces as needed
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Public Safety

  • Serves as liaison between BBA and the Public Safety areas
  • Works closely with the Atlanta Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff, and the City of Atlanta Department of Fire Rescue to determine which public safety officer will be honored at the Signature Luncheon
  • Introduces award honorees and presents award at Signature Luncheon
  • Coordinates with representatives from our public safety partners to have a “Public Safety Update” at one breakfast meeting/month
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Socials

  • Coordinates monthly social events at area venues for BBA members
  • Pitch BBA membership/sponsorship to host of social events who are not already members
  • Facilitate communication regarding social events between Board of Directors, Executive Director, Public Relations and BBA members
  • Assist with Taste of Buckhead and Young Bucks with event planning
  • Works with VP of Public Relations to make sure activities get appropriate media(social media) coverage
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

Committee: Taste of Buckhead

  • Identify, select and invite ATOBB Executive Committee members for event (Sept/Oct)
  • Identify sub-chairs and hold each accountable for activities/assigned duties
  • Engage committee members to actively assist sub-chairs with planning
  • Works with Executive Director, BBA President to select and negotiate contract with event venue
  • Determine meeting schedule, send meeting notifications, conduct and record minutes of all committee meetings
  • Create a budget for Board approval (Jan/Feb).
  • Works with VP of Public Relations to make sure activities get appropriate media(social media) coverage
  • Coordinate event logistics with Executive Director(ongoing)
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events

    Day of Event
    Lead, direct, troubleshoot. And execute all phases of operations with input from ED and BBA President

    Post Event
    Thank Volunteers, finalize actual expenses/compare to proposed budget
    Report profit/loss to the BBA Board at the next meeting, conduct post event survey
    Provide monthly report to the BBA Board

Committee: YoungBucks

  • Assist Executive Director with administrative work relevant to Young Bucks (scheduling events, follow-up with visitors, managing printing needs, etc.)
  • Assist with the recruitment of YoungBucks to the organization
  • Works with YoungBucks Sponsor to coordinate sponsor-branded events
  • Engage with other networking groups in the Buckhead area to create appropriate partnerships that will benefit Young Bucks and the BBA
  • Coordinate and execute relevant and interesting events that are appropriate for YoungBuck members of BBA
  • Provide support to President, Executive Director, Board of Directors in matters arising. Forge a relationship with the membership.
  • Recruit and coordinate a committee to help plan events. If so desires will serve as President of YoungBucks
  • Provide Monthly reports to the BBA Board
  • Attend BBA breakfast and BBA Board meetings
  • Represent the BBA at various community events
