The Business Empowerment Breakfast Series is brought to you by the Buckhead Business Association.


Business Empowerment Breakfasts take place on Thursday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Maggiano's Buckhead, and feature thought leaders and influencer from all over the country. Past speakers have included business and civic leaders, authors, entertainers and representatives from some of the City’s finest cultural establishments.  Networking takes place beginning at 7:30 a.m. with a call to order promptly at 7:45 a.m.

BBA Breakfast: Featuring Natalie Ammons

Ms. Ammons began her career with the GBI in 1993 in an administrative capacity assigned to the Atlanta Regional Drug Enforcement Office.  Since then, she has worked in various other work units within the GBI: Local Violators Squad, Financial Investigations Unit, Atlanta High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), Investigative Division Inspectors’ Office, Investigative Division Deputy Director’s Office, and most recently the GBI Assistant Director’s Office.  Ms. Ammons also spent time from 2004-2006 at the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council as the Confidential Secretary to the Executive Director.
 
Ms. Ammons is a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and serves as an officer on the Executive Board and the Scholarship Committee Chair for the Georgia Chapter.  In July, she will be recognized at the NOBLE National Conference in Hollywood, FL as being selected as the 2018 NOBLE Member of the Year, the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the organization. She is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Atlanta Metropol, Inc., and the U.S. Department of Justice Global Advisory Council’s National Alerts Task Team. Ms. Ammons has served as the Operations Manager for the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) since 2014 and coordinates and is a member of the ASCIA Use of Force Investigations Committee.  She serves as proxy for GBI Director Keenan representing ASCIA on the Federal Bureau of Investigation CJIS Use of Force Data Collection Task Force.
 
Ms. Ammons coordinates and assists with several community service related projects at the GBI to include: State Charitable Contributions Program, Special Olympics Georgia Polar Plunge & Law Enforcement Torch Run, GBI Pink Patch Project, National Night Out, DeKalb County Full Court Press Basketball Tournament, and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NAMIWalks Georgia.  At the 2018 NAMI Georgia Annual Conference in April, Ms. Ammons was recognized with the “Friend of NAMI Award.”  This award highlights a person outside of the traditional behavioral health community that has demonstrated dedication to NAMI’s goal of improving the lives of those living with and touched by mental illness.
